Already, two contestants, Charles Opoku and Nana Kwame Dankwa are vying for the top post. Both candidates have a rich credentials in Kotoko with Opoku regarded as a financier of the club while Dankwa, CEO of Executive of Johans Driving Academy, is also considered as a driving force for the regional circles.

The two contestants have not only canvassing for votes by visiting radio stations in Accra and using the print media to canvass for votes and outline their plans for the Greater Accra Circles in particular and Kotoko in general if elected into office.

Opoku has pledged to make the Greater Accra Circles more vibrant to enable them contribute to the success of any management team of Kotoko, if given the nod. On the other hand,

Dankwa says his goal would be to develop the human resource base of members, create and operate functional electronic mail (e-mail) accounts and a website that would provide information to all other Circles, if elected.

“Management can’t do it all, hence the call for a re-branding of our Circles. That, no doubt, will help management to a large extent. I have been around for sometime; when given the chance I will bring on board the dormant members and executives, so together we can form a formidable team,” Opoku noted.

For his part, Dankwa said: “will hook us onto two social media platforms to make communication an essential tool for our deliberations and information dissemination., and also engender effective communication at all levels.”
