Dormaa Ahenkro-based Aduana Stars descended in Accra yesterday to pounce on Accra Hearts of Oak, battering them into submission with a 2-0 victory to extend their lead on the top position of the betPawa Premier League log with 35 points.
Two second-half goals by nimble-footed Isaac Mintah cost Hearts the maximum points, dragging Hearts to the 4th position of the league log with 28 points.
The match, which generated keen interest among pundits, saw Aduana showing class moments after kick-off, pushing their opponents to their own half, but failed to convert the few chances created.

Two minutes into the second half, Mintah, who proved too hot for the Hearts defenders, took advantage of a defensive blunder to break the deadlock to silence the Hearts supporters.
In the 64th minute, Mintah was on hand again to put the game beyond recovery for Hearts.
The victory coming in the opening of the second round of the betPawa Ghana Premier League has seen Aduana Stars opening a five-point gap between them and second-placed Bechem United who also defeated Great Olympics 3-0 at the Nana Fosu Gyeabuor Park at Bechem yesterday.
