Attram tips Kotoko to win League

Newly appointed coach of Accra Great Olympics, Godwin Attram, has tipped Kumasi Asante Kotoko as favourites to win this year’s Premier League despite the Porcupine Warrior’s poor start to the season.

Kotoko have had some hiccups since the season kicked off and two weeks ago dropped to the bottom of the table after losing to  Aduana Stars, but moved to the ninth position last week after beating Liberty 3-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Attram, a fomer PSV Eindhoven of Holland striker, is certain Kotoko will emerge strongly from their woes, insisting that the Porcupine Warriors have strong mentality to clinch the deal.

In an interview with the Graphic Sports in Accra on Sunday, Attram argued,“the  season is still young and, therefore, too early to write off  a team like Kotoko because we all know their history”.

The 35-year-old was delighted about the improvement of the standard being exhibited by the players in the Ghana Premier League so far and urged that the coaches sustained it.

“I think the game has really improved this time. Some seasons ago few players could score from free kicks but I have watched some fantastic free kick goals which I think is making the game more exciting”, Attram stressed.

“Set-piece execution is one of the important aspects of the game. When your opponent is defending so deep, only a single foul can change the outcome of the game,” he added.
