Ping pong League: Navy thrash Army 3 - 0
A combat between two heavyweights in the ping-pong fraternity saw the Ghana Navy thrash their Army counterparts 3-0 in the ongoing Table Tennis League staged at the Media Centre of the Accra Stadium last Saturday.
It was a thrilling encounter which saw supporters of both sides sitting on tenterhooks throughout.
Army’s woes were deepened when they lost 1-3 to the Police Service in another pulsating encounter.
Another interesting highlight of last Saturday’s games saw the Police women’s team beating the formidable Immigration 3-2 in the only women’s match of the week.
In the other first round matches, Immigration defeated Tesano Spinners 3-0, while Madina Club suffered a 0-3 thrashing at the hands of Koforidua White Loopers.
Synergy Club of Mamprobi made light work of EMEFS with a 3-1 victory, while GRA Customs Division defeated Asante Monetary Country 3-0.
The rest of the first round matches are as follows: Fire Service beat Ashaiman Power Club 3-0, Prisons Service edged out King Royal Academy 3-0 and Navy beat Team Baboo 3-0.
The second round of matches saw Immigration defeating Koforidua White Loopers 3-0; Madina Club lost 0-3 to Asante Monetary Country, while EMEFS won 3-0 against Tesano Spinners.
In the other matches, Synergy won 3-0 against Ashaiman Power Club, GRA Customs Division beat Kings Royal Academy 3-0, while Prisons defeated Team Baboo 3-2.
