Ayew, Odoi to leave NAC Breda
Dutch side NAC Breda have confirmed that Ghana captain André Ayew and Belgian-Ghanaian defender Denis Odoi will leave the club following yesterday’s final match of the season.
The Eredivisie club opted against extending the contracts of both experienced players after what was considered a difficult spell in Breda. Ayew, who arrived with significant expectations due to his pedigree and leadership, struggled to make a consistent impact during his time at the club.
The former Olympique de Marseille forward’s brightest moment came with a goal against Feyenoord, a rare highlight in an otherwise disappointing campaign.
Odoi also found opportunities limited as NAC Breda endured a challenging season, prompting the club to move in a different direction ahead of the next campaign.
Yesterday’s fixture will now serve as a farewell occasion for the two veterans as they prepare to seek new opportunities away from the Netherlands.
