B’ball: Easter Baller Camp starts today

About 500 student athletes from basic, second cycle and tertiary schools across the country will converge today on the Aviation Social Centre for the third edition of the annual Easter Ballers Camp, which runs to Monday, April 23.

The camp is organised by the Royalty Sports Academy Foundation (RoSAF), a non-governmental organisation in partnership with the African Youth Basketball Organisation, a US-based scouting institution. It is expected to bring the students together under one roof for grooming.

According to RoSAF’s founder, Mr Michael Davies, the students would be taken through academic, athletic and attitudinal development, as well as being exposed to competitions aimed at upgrading the student athletes from one level to the elite level with the outstanding athletes in line to win scholarship to further their education abroad.

He said the three-week event would be divided into four segments - Senior High School development training camp, scouting camp, Royal Collegiate Basketball tournament, Junior High School and Primary School basketball and soccer training camp.
