Babolat to sponsor tennis stars

Two promising stars at the end of last Saturday’s National Rankings tennis competition in Kumasi, Emmanuel Plange and Marcel Agbegue, have earned a special sponsorship package from the sponsors, Ismaila Tennis & Sports Shop, the official agent of Babolat equpment tennis in Ghana, to be put on ‘futures’ to develop their talents to help the national team.

Plange and Agbegue of the Kaneshie Tennis Club and Winneba Club respectively were the toast of the fans after the weeklong competition and were named the most promising players of the competition.

They could not match  the experiences of the winner, Pascal Ziyab, who defeated Benjamin Fumi 6-3, 6-1 in the final, but showed great potential with some scintillating display of tennis prowess.

Babolat is expected to kit the players and put on the ‘futures’ tournament until such a time that they are fully ripe to aid the national team, the Golden Rackets.

Aside the two players, the CEO of Babolat, Ismaila Nii Lante Lamptey, presented cash prizes and kits to those who qualified from the quarter final to the final of the tournament.

There are four main ranking competitions to be played in May, July, September and November to arrive at the final rankings for the year.
