Bechem United’s Sefa laments lack of cutting edge
Bechem United wonderkid Emmanuel Sefa has voiced his disappointment over the team’s lack of clinical finishing in front of goal this season.
The team has scored just one goal and conceded three out of four games this season and they currently find themselves in the 14th position on the league log.
According to the young attacker, the team puts in a great deal of effort during training and receives proper guidance from the technical bench, yet struggles to convert scoring opportunities when it matters most.
In a post-match interview last Friday, Sefa said the situation had become a source of worry for both the players and the technical team, and they were determined to find a solution soon.
“We train hard and follow the instructions of our coaches, but we still struggle to take our chances,” he said. “It’s something that worries all of us, and we hope to improve in that area.”
Reflecting on his journey to the Premier League, Sefa revealed that several top-flight clubs were interested in signing him during his days in the Division One League, but he chose Bechem United because of the club’s stature and ambition.
“When I was playing in Division One, many teams wanted to sign me, but I realised Bechem United was a big club, and I felt it was the right time to join and help them,” he explained.
The forward, who is enjoying his debut season in the top-flight, admitted that the Ghana Premier League presents a new level of pressure, particularly when facing traditional giants such as Hearts of Oak, whom Bechem played last Friday.
Despite the challenges, Sefa remains optimistic that with hard work and consistency, Bechem United will soon find their scoring touch and climb up the league table.
