Binatone supports underprivileged sport

Binatone Ghana Limited, dealers in electrical appliances, have partnered Sports and Youth Development Organisation (SYDO) to sponsor a sport activity involving underprivileged Ghanaians suffering from various ailments.

They included people who suffered disabilities as a result of polio. The sponsorship by the company through the SYDO is geared at supporting efforts to enable former beggars to play Skate soccer on regular basis to help them off the streets.

The Group Managing Director of Binatone Ghana Limited, Mr Sunil Lalvani, said Ghana had been supportive of the growth of the Binatone brand, hence the need to give back to society.

He noted that the underprivileged skate players abounded in Ghana with great talents that deserved support to enable them to get off the streets.

The Executive Director of SYDO, Mr Albert Frimpong, thanked Binatone for the kind gesture which would bring relief to the marginalised in society.

He said it had been his childhood passion to help the less privileged in society as a boy growing up in a poor community in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Mr Frimpong said the overall objective of the sponsorship was to help the team compete with others in the sub-region.
