Bonsu wins super featherweight title

Abraham Osei Bonsu last Saturday night won the national super featherweight title after defeating Felix Ajom by a majority decision at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.

On a rainy night which forced the remaining bouts to be called off, Bonsu dominated his opponent from start to finish.

Bonsu, who has a record of 15 bouts with 10 knockouts, two losses and a draw, worked on the body of Ajom, 10-1-1, throughout to wear him down.

Two judges scored it 117-114, 116-114 for Bonsu, while the other judge made it 115-115 to ensure victory for the Ashanti hero.

Earlier, Wasiru Mohammed stopped his Beninois opponent, Nomibe Firmim, in the third round.

While fans in the arena were waiting for more action, the CEO of HeMann Promotions, Heta Hemann, mounted the ring to call off the remaining fights due to the torrential rains.
