Ghanasoccernet.com reports that the case was opened today but adjourned because the presiding judge was absent at the General Jurisdiction Court 2 today.

The GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi arrived at the court premises at exactly 9:00 am with the defendants Songo and Abatay already seated.

Background

GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi launched a $2m libel suit against Multimedia Broadcasting Limited (MBL) for allegedly being described on its platforms as the 'head of a mafia.'

Nyantakyi sued two of its journalists, Patrick Osei Agyeman and Kofi Asare Brako (who now works with another media company).

Nyantakyi, an executive committee member of the Confederation of African Football, claims Asempa FM - a local-language FM station owned by MBL - tarnished his image in a series of broadcasts involving both journalists.

Thadeus Sory, Nyantakyi's lawyer, told BBC Sport that his client was described as 'heading a mafia' and stealing money meant for the GFA.
