Douglas Djarbeng Top 8 Hitters tennis as Ben Palm shows class
The first round matches of the Douglas Djarbeng Top 8 Hitters Tournament came to an end yesterday at the Accra Lawn Tennis Club (ALTC) with Benjamin Palm defeating Joshua Annan 7-5, 6-3.
The two players displayed many skills and entertained tennis fans who trooped to the tennis court in their numbers, but it was Palm who showed much prominence by sending his opponent packing with two straight sets to book a place in the next stage of the competition.
In other matches, Bernard Ashitey also won the admiration of the fans by displaying his skills as he defeated Alex Kumah 6-4, 6-2 to book a place in Friday’s game.
The match between Isaac Dapaah and Emmanuel Quarcoo became a one-way traffic as the former pummelted his opponent 6-0, 6-2 .Daniel Quartey also showed no mercy when he met Samuel Adotei in the last match as he entertained the fans before overpowering Adotei 6-0, 6-0 to prove that he is a player to watch on Friday..
The players were divided into two groups and winners from each group will clash in the historic final on Friday.
