Dramatic debut for Andre Ayew as Ghana captain sent off for Le Havre in minutes
Black Stars captain Andre Dede Ayew faced a turbulent start to his journey with Le Havre in the French Ligue 1, as he received a red card just two minutes into his debut against Nantes.
Ayew, who recently made the move to to French Ligue 1 side Le Havre following his departure from Nottingham Forest, had anticipated a promising beginning with his new club.
In the 67th minute of the match, a mere two minutes after Ayew stepped onto the field as a substitute, he found himself handed a red card by the referee for a mistimed tackle on an opponent.
The consequence of the red card entails a suspension that will sideline Ayew for the next three games.
Having been without a club prior to joining Le Havre just before the November international break, Ayew, 33, now faces the challenge of regrouping and redirecting his focus towards making a positive impact upon his return to the field after serving his suspension.
