Final regional Millennium Marathon on Aug 8

The postponement of the Regional Millennium Marathon from August 3 to August 8 in Sekondi-Takoradi has rather gingered up enthusiam than dampen it, organisers have said.

The final of the nine road shows used to whip up interest in the event in Accra on September 5, is expected to bring down the curtain on the regional event in grand style.

A spokesperson of the organisers told the Daily Graphic that as expected, a record number of people have registered for this final roadshow, with the list dominated by runners who are making a last attempt to qualify for the September 5 race in Accra.

Apart from the special winners’ prizes, the Airtel and National Investment Bank-sponsored event has slots for the first three winners in both the male and female events to join the over 1,500 marathoners who will converge in Accra for the national event.
