GCAA send early warning with 2-0 win in UG Corporate League opener

The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority began their defence of the 2026 University of Ghana Corporate Football League title in emphatic style with a 2-0 victory over Lancaster Accra at the University of Ghana Stadium on Friday, February 13, 2026.

The reigning champions wasted little time asserting their authority, setting the tempo from kick-off with aggressive pressing and sustained attacking play. Their early dominance translated into a breakthrough in the first half when Gideon Kamasah surged past Lancaster’s defence to open the scoring.

Moments later, GCAA doubled their advantage after Kofi Aboagye was awarded a penalty. He calmly converted from the spot to hand his side a comfortable 2-0 lead going into the interval. The champions’ sharp movement and cohesive attacking play left Lancaster struggling to find rhythm.

After the break, GCAA adopted a more measured approach, focusing on defensive discipline and game management. Their backline remained organised and resolute, effectively neutralising Lancaster’s attempts to mount a comeback. By controlling possession and slowing the tempo, the defending champions ensured there were no late surprises.

At the final whistle, the 2-0 result underscored GCAA’s intent to retain their crown. The assured performance not only secured three valuable points but also sent an early warning to their rivals that they remain the team to beat in this year’s competition.
