Speaking at the launch last Tuesday at StarTimes in Accra, the Project Manager of Medivent Consult, organisers of the event, noted that his outfit was keen on improving on the security of athletes, having learnt useful lessons from the maiden edition last year.

The Mpraeso Baamuhene of Kwahu Traditional Council (KTC), Nana Obeng Akrofi Darte I, who launched the event, said he was hopeful of having another exciting competition and called on the public to welcome the move to make the Easter celebration more exciting.

"There is no doubt that the marathon has come to stay, considering the events unfolding at this launch.

Last year, KTC sought ways of giving the Kwahu Easter a new image, hence the introduction of this marathon to give the Easter celebration an international character and outlook," he said.

For his part, the Director of Television at StarTimes, George Lomotey, revealed that this year's marathon would be televised on Adepa TV for millions of Ghanaians to witness the event in the comfort of their homes.
