4 New players get Black Stars call-up for Austria, Germany friendlies

GHANA’s male senior national team coach, Otto Addo has named his squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Austria in Vienna on March 27 and Germany in Stuttgart on March 30, respectively.

The 26-man squad is largely made up of players who have featured for the Stars since Coach Addo took charge, but he has handed a debut call up for four new players in  the 26-man squad, giving them the opportunity to justify their inclusion in the Stars set up as they build up for the 2026 World Cup in June.

The four new players are Derrick Luckassen, a centre-back for Pafos FC in Cyprus,  Patrick Pfeiffer, a defender with German second tier league side Darmstadt 98,  French Ligue 1 side AJ Auxerre player, Marvin Senaya and Daniel Kwasi Agyei, an attacking winger who plays for Turkish club, Kocaelispor.

 Also named in the squad are returnees, Iñaki Williams, Ibrahim Sulemana, Thomas Partey, and Alexander Djiku.

One of the key players, Mohammed Kudus, is missing from the squad due to his injury.

Goalkeepers: Lawrence Ati-Zigi (St. Gallen), Benjamin Asare (Accra Hearts of Oak), and Joseph Anang (St. Patrick’s Athletic)

Defenders: Alexander Djiku (Spartak Moscow), Gideon Mensah (Auxerre), Patrick Pfeiffer (SV Darmstadt), Derrick Luckassen (Pafos FC), Derrick Kohn (Union Berlin), Jerome Opoku (Istanbul Basaksehir), Caleb Yirenkyi (FC Nordsjaelland), Kojo Oppoong Pepprah (OGC Nice), Jonas Adjetey (VFL Wolfsburg) and Marvin Senaya (Auxerre), 

Midfielders: Kwasi Sibo (Real Oviedo),Thomas Partey (Villareal), Elisha Owusu (Auxerre) and Ibrahim Sulemana (Cagliari). 

Forwards/Wingers: Jordan Ayew (Leicester City), Antoine Semenyo (Manchester City), Kamal Deen Sulemana (Atalanta),Brandon Thomas Asante (Coventry City), Prince Adu (Viktoria Plzen), Christopher Bonsu Baah (Al Qadsiah), Abdul Fatawu Issahaku (Leicester City), Inaki Williams (Atletic Bilbao) and Daniel Agyei (Kocalispor).
