GNPC book ticket to Anfield

A second half hat-trick by Gabriel Darko last Saturday helped Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) to beat Multimedia 3-1 to emerge winners of this year's Standard Chartered-sponsored "Road to Anfield" Trophy. GNPC will later this year represent Ghana at a five-a-side world football competition at Anfield, England.

The Standard Chartered "Road to Anfiield" Trophy is an annual competition which gives a life-time opportunity to people with diverse backgrounds around the globe to meet and spend time with Liverpool football stars.

After leading his side to Anfield through his individual brilliance which won them a trophy, gold medals and souvenirs from sponsors, Darko also took home the best player and top scorer awards. His team mate, Isaac Biney, was also adjudged the best goalkeeper of the competition.

The Managing Director of Standard Chartered Bank Kweku Bedu-Addo, in his closing address lauded the efforts of the two finalists and assured the winners of an exciting trip to Anfield.

Liverpool legend, John Barnes, who graced the occasion, tasked the winners to become the first African side to win the competition when they participate in Anfield.
