Golf produces self-discipline and integrity — Okyenhene
The Okyenhene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin has called on stakeholders of golf to encourage the youth to take golf seriously for the benefit of the nation.
The Okyenhene noted that golf has a huge potential to build in individuals rich values like self-discipline and integrity.
Addressing the Okyenhene Invitational Golf Tournament in Tafo last week, Osagyefo said “I hold the strong belief that the game of golf requires and builds in all of us rich values like self-discipline and integrity.”
He dismissed the perception that golf is a sport for the rich and encouraged the youth to consider it as a pastime.
“We should, therefore, encourage a lot of young people to play it. I encourage all of us to continue in one way or the other to mentor and sponsor young people to play golf for the advancement of the game in Ghana.
“As we continue to shape the development of our nation in various sectors, I further wish to urge businesses to invest in the construction of more golf facilities to increase eco-tourism and sports,” he appealed.
