Grant hot over ‘bull’ comment despite making u-turn
Black Stars coach, Avram Grant, has succumbed to mounting presssure from Ghanaians to retract his unsavoury comment made after Ghana’s 3-1 victory over Mozambique in the AFCON 2017 qualifiers last week.

The Israeli in a foul-mouth tirade after that game, urged the nation to “concentrate on the football and not the bulls***t” but has since recanted.
"First, I withdraw this word (Bullsh*t); I want to say to all the Ghanaian people, I love Ghana, I respect Ghana....," in an audio statement released by the GFA’s Communications Department.
Nevertheless, his retraction has not prevented leading football administrators, including the founder and president of King Faisal FC, Alhaji Karim Gruzah, Nana Fitz and Herbert Mensah, from criticising him.
Alhaji Gruzah has appealed to the Ethics Committee of the FA to summon the Stars coach over his comments, while Mr Mensah has urged the Israeli to learn the football culture and history of Ghana and be mindful of his comments.
"Avram Grant needs to learn the football culture and history of Ghana and be mindful about his comments,” Mr Mensah said yesterday on Accra-based Atinka FM.
The former Asante Kotoko CEO also took Grant’s agent, Saif Rubie, to task for insulting comments, saying, "perhaps he is suffering from selective amnesia, sorry to say, but I think Avram Grant's agent is a complete idiot."
Following a similar tone, Gruzah said: “If he thinks we are bullshit and he is not, why is he working with us? He should peacefully leave the work and go. Grant must resign immediately.”
In an interview with Asempa FM, Nana Fitz said Grant did not respect himself in the first place and his comments were unacceptable.
“You can’t use such words on a country that has employed you to work and even when you choose to stay away the country still pay you”.
“In our country now Grant is the highest paid personality and even when he stayed in Europe for close to four months without working for the country we were still paying him.
“If he is telling us to stop the bulls**t, he should first stop his bulls**t attitude and respect himself”.
