Inter Allies hammer Chelsea 3-1

International Allies FC returned to winning ways in the premier league when they defeated Berekum Chelsea 3-1 at the Tema Stadium yesterday.

Edward Adjaklo opened the floodgates in the 10th minute, while Frederick Boateng netted twice — one from the penalty spot in the 24th minute and another in the 42nd minute — to give the home side   their only third win of the season.

Saddick Adams pulled a goal back for Chelsea in the 87th minute through a spot kick but it was too little too late to save the Berekum lads even though the goal boosted the striker’s goal-king aspiration, as it took his tally to seven goals to trail Latif Blessing and Yahya Mohammed (both on nine goals) on the scorers’ chart.

Yesterday’s win was Inter Allies’ first victory in their last seven matches but the club remains rooted in the relegation zone, lying in 14th position.

Being the last home game before the end of the first round, Inter Allies were determined to make their home advantage count as Jimmy Corbblah’s side looked businesslike throughout the four-goal thriller and took advantage of their chances.
