Coach Konadu says he is ready to support the initiative by putting up a strong team to challenge for the trophy should Ghana get the nod to stage the competition.

Ghana decided to go for the hosting right of the continental tournament slated for January next year after the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF's) decision to strip Kenya off the fights following a series of delays as reported by an inspection team.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Isaac Asiamah, was quick to underscore the government's readiness to bid for the tournament after a successful organisation of the just-ended West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Cup in Cape Coast and Elmina.

In a chat with the Graphic Sports last Wednesday, Coach Konadu said, "I am ready to support the nation's decision to bid for the CHAN tournament and I will be glad if it can be done quickly".

"As a coach, you need to be prepared whenever you are called upon and I am ready to put up a team for the tournament should we get the nod to host the competition," he added.

The Stars B failed to qualify for the CHAN tournament after losing 3-4 on aggregate to Burkina Faso but were able to appease Ghanaians by putting up an impressive display to beat Nigeria and win the WAFU Cup last week.

Meanwhile, Coach Konadu has described his side's game against Mali as his most difficult match in the WAFU competition after the Ghanaians managed to win by a lone goal through Winful Cobinnah’s individual brilliance.

The match, he said, provided his team a psychological edge and motivated them in their bid to win the competition which finally paid off.
