Kotoko draw in Kumasi again

Hundreds of fans of Kumasi Asante Kotoko were left in despair as their team were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Medeama SC in their Premier League game ahead of  their Africa campaign on Saturday.

Indeed,   they were aided by Referee Laryea who handed the visitors a raw deal by robbing them of a perfect 24th-minute goal and rather allowed a doubtful goal by Ahmed Toure in the 80th minute.

Stand-in coach, Michael Osei,  exhibited one of his poorest technical brains yet, as he struggled to find an antidote to the tactics of Medeama .

Indeed, the referee had whistled for a goal after Hans Kwofie's diving ground header finishing off from wasteful Nathaniel Asamoah when assistant referee Alex Aning ruled it to be an off side.

But when Toure's aerial header ricocheted under the cross bar but the entire circumference of the ball did not cross the goal line, the referee pointed to the centre line.

Bature Benjamin shot Medeama into the lead in the 5th minute, atoning for Asamoah's near misses.
