Augustine Adotey - Confident of Medeama victory

Medeama host Sundowns tomorrow

The Technical Director of Medeama SC, Augustine Adotey, is confident that his side can overturn a 3-1 deficit when they host Mamelodi Sundowns in the return leg of their CAF Confederation Cup playoff tomorrow at the Essipon Sports Stadium.

The Ghanaian side collapsed in the final 10 minutes of the first leg, conceding three late goals after taking an early lead but Adotey believes their away goal boosts their chances of qualifying for the lucrative group stage of the competition.

“It is good we had an away goal there; we just have to capitalise on it and try to score two, three goals,” he told Atinka FM.

“We have to get three goals because that will be more secure, but I am happy we have an away goal going into the second leg and I’m confident we will deliver”.

The Sundowns team, nicknamed The Brazilians, arrived in the country last Sunday night with a 40-man contingent and promptly moved to Takoradi where they checked into the Protea Hotel.

Medeama are hoping to avoid the heartbreak of 2014 when they lost to AC Leopards on penalties at this same stage.
