PLB awards friday

The Professional League Board (PLB) Awards Night will honour over 20 individuals, clubs and corporate bodies who excelled in the 2014/15 edition of the First Capital Plus Premier League on Friday at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.

They are, Footballer of the season: Kofi Owusu (Chelsea), Richard Ofori (Wa All Stars), Eric Opoku (Ashantigol); Defender of the Season: Lawrence Lartey (Ashantigold), Baba Mensah (Inter Allies), Ahmed Adams (Kotoko); Goalkeeper of the Season: Muntari Tagoe (Medeama), Richard Ofori (All Stars), Felix Annan (WAFA);

Most Promising Player: Gideon Waja (WAFA), Latif Blessing (Liberty), Latif Analbila (New Edubiase); Coach of the Season: John Kila (WAFA), Bashir Hayford (Ashgold), Kwabena Ameyaw (Aduana Stars); Referee of the Season: Fred Andoh, Seidu Bomison, William Agbovi; Assistant Referee of the Season: James Osafo, Richard Appiah, Dawood Ouedrago; CEO of the Season: Delali Eric Senaya (Inter Allies), Kudjoe Fianoo (Ashgold), Albert Commey Aryeetey (Aduana Stars).

The rest are Match Commissioner of the Season: Ashford Tettey-Oku, Arthur Dadzie, C.W. Okai; Fair Play Team of the Season: Inter Allies, WAFA, Medeama; Camera Personnel of the Season: Ohene Adjei, Praise Dora Antwi, Samed Abubakari; and Best behaved Supporters Group: WAFA, Inter Allies, Ashantigold.

The ceremony will be chaired by the Director General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Mr Ernest Thompson, while the Omanhene of the Dormaa Treaditional Area, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, is the Guest of Honour.

Osagyefo Agyemang Badu II, a justice of the Fast Track High Court, is the owner, bankroller and life patron of Premier League Club, Aduana Football Club, while Mr Thompson was for many years, the Board Secretary of Accra Hearts of Oak, and one-time board member of the Ghana Football Association.
