The Ghana National Rifle Association (GNRA) has changed its name to the Ghana Shooting Sports Federation (GSSF) in response to a directive by the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF).
According to a statement by GSSF president, Cillian George Walsh, the name change became necessary because of the world body’s acknowledgement of Ghana’s level of participation at the international stage, particularly with the discipline encompassing events such as para-shooting, pistol and rifle shooting.
He announced that the GSSF would compete in two world tournaments this year with qualification for the summer Olympics in Rio, a target for the federation.
