Defending champions Exchequers of the Bank of Ghana sent a chilling reminder of their dominance in the 2025 Sapholda Greater Accra Hockey League after dismantling Ark Men 10-0 in a ruthless fashion at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium last Saturday.
The emphatic victory keeps the “Bankers” firmly in pole position, stretching their tally to 20 points from nine matches and leaving them within touching distance of retaining their crown.
Breathing down their necks, however, are Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) Men, who bounced back strongly from last week’s bruising defeat in the top-of-the-table showdown against Exchequers.
The Taxmen dispatched Police 4-1 in commanding style to move into second on 18 points — three clear of Police, who slip to fourth, and two ahead of Army, who sat out the weekend’s fixtures.
Elsewhere, Reformers of Prisons pocketed three precious points after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Legon Knights. The result lifts Reformers to 12 points in fifth place, while Legon Knights remain winless alongside Ark Men, both languishing at the bottom with two points apiece.
Perfect run for GRA Royal Ladies
In the women’s competition, GRA Royal Ladies remain in a class of their own. The table-toppers chalked up their eighth consecutive victory — and completed the double over Police Ladies — with a clinical 3-0 win that maintains their perfect record and maximum haul of 24 points.
Army Ladies, smarting from last week’s loss to the unbeaten leaders, bounced back in style to thrash Extinguishers 3-1, consolidating second place on 16 points. Police Ladies, meanwhile, hold third on 12 points, with Prison Ladies climbing to fourth on eight points after brushing aside bottom-placed Legon Knights Ladies 3-1.
