See the 21 nations already qualified for 2026 FIFA World Cup, with nine months to go until kickoff

The countdown is on. With just nine months to go, the 2026 FIFA World Cup is fast approaching.

This edition of the tournament will be historic—not only for its scale but also for its hosts: the United States, Canada, and Mexico will jointly stage the event from Thursday, June 11 to Sunday, July 19, 2026.

Next year's tournament will be the biggest World Cup in history, featuring 48 teams for the first time, all vying for football’s most prestigious international trophy.

So far, 21 nations have secured their spots after a series of intense qualification campaigns across various continents.

We begin with the three host nations—USA, Canada, and Mexico—who automatically qualified and will each play group-stage matches on home soil next summer.

From South America, the qualification process wrapped up last September, with Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador, and Paraguay all booking their tickets. Bolivia still has a chance to qualify but will need to win an intercontinental play-off to join the final list.

Asia’s qualifiers include Iran, Uzbekistan, Jordan, South Korea, Japan, and Australia, who have all sealed their spots for North America.

From Africa, five teams have now qualified: Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, and most recently, Ghana.

New Zealand have emerged as the sole representative from Oceania, securing their long journey to next summer's tournament.

Among the 21 teams already qualified, Uzbekistan and Jordan will be making their debut appearances at a FIFA World Cup—a historic milestone for both nations.

Finally, it’s worth noting that Uruguay, one of only eight countries to have ever won the World Cup, enters the 2026 edition as one of the proud holders of football’s ultimate prize.

Here is a complete list of the 21 countries already qualified for the 2026 World Cup as of Monday, October 13.
