According to the National Sales Manager at Electroland Ghana Limited, Vincent Azan-Gbiok, the items are intended to motivate the basketball players as they prepare to represent Ghana in international competition.
Mr. Azan-Gbiok stated that the donation was a further demonstration of NASCO's commitment to the development of sports in the country, following its long-standing association with football.
"We have a history of supporting sports in this country. We have supported the Black Stars and the league, and now we have decided to sponsor basketball too because everyone is focusing on football.
"There is a lot of talent in basketball, and with more investment, teams such as Spintex Knights can bring pride to the nation. We are hopeful they will qualify for the next stage," he added.
"We decided to motivate the players, so we are giving every player a 50-inch TV, along with eight audio systems."
The co-founder of Spintex Knights Basketball Club, Dr. Eric Opoku-Antwi, expressed gratitude to Electroland for the support, assuring that his team would give their best to qualify for the next stage and make the nation proud.
