According to them, failure by the state to do so would compel them to advise themselves accordingly.

Speaking at a press conference at the National Hockey Pitch in Accra yesterday, more than 20 associations heads wondered why the government had continually treated the so-called least-financed sporting disciplines with contempt.

Mr Richard Akpokavie, the President of the Ghana Hockey Association (GHA), regreted the treatment of other sporting disciplines by the government and called on the state to come to their aid.

Other speakers included the presidents of the weightlifting, handball, badminton and netball association.
