A source at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) told GNA Sports that Appiah’s tour would see him spending a maximum of two days with each player in order to interact with the various managers of their respective clubs to back up his database.

Appiah, the first indigenous trainer to qualify the Black Stars to the Mundial, is expected to spend a month visiting senior players such as Michael Essien, Kwadwo Asamoah, Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng.

He is expected to visit the younger players as well, including Christian Atsu, injured Andre Ayew, Rabiu Mohammed and John Boye, who have just recovered from injury.

The tour, according to the source, is also expected to take the Stars coach to Liverpool or Manchester City, where he will be expected to interact with the technical heads of the two clubs for about 72 hours.

Ghana have been paired alongside Germany, Portugal and the United States of America in Group G.

The Stars are making a third successive appearance at the World Cup, where they remain Africa’s best performers in the last two editions in Germany 2006 and South Africa 2010.
