Taekwondo: 13 Pass Black Belt exam

Thirteen taekwondo practitioners out of 15 candidates have passed a Black Belt promotion examination organised by the Ashanti Regional Taekwondo Association (ARTA) for the northern sector of the country.

The examination was conducted for 12 practitioners from the Ashanti Region and three from the Brong Ahafo Region.

Five practitioners namely, Ziad Tanek Minkarah, Frank Agyei, Dominic Agyei-Kumi, Adutwum Maclean and Abdulai Ibrahim, all graduated from 1st GUP to 1st DAN Black Belt.

In the 1st DAN to 2nd DAN Black Belt division, Ali Salifu Wango, Emmanuel Adu-Nti and Joseph Kojo Abedu all graduated.

Also, Dr Reuben Yao Tamakloe and Richard Kofi Acquah graduated from 3rd DAN to 4th DAN Black Belt with Mohammed Ayambi and George Kobla Ablormeti both graduating from 2nd DAN to 3rd DAN Black Belt.

Grandmaster Sun Tae Kim, who supervised the event, was enthused about the support and structure put in place by the Ghana Taekwondo Federation to develop the discipline across the country.

He also commended Stephen Amegashie Jnr and Master Simon Koku Gluikpor, Ashanti regional coach, as well as the entire regional association executive for their support.
