Tuesday, the club filed its appeal and though they did not give any time lines, they expressed the hope that the Appeals Committee would be able to sit and determine the case before the end of the month.

The president of the club, Charles Kwadwo Ntim, popularly referred to as 'Micky Charles' yesterday told the Graphic Sports that they were determined not only to prove their innocence but also to remain in the DOL.

"I state emphatically that we are innocent of the allegations made against us. It is sad and unfortunate that we have been implicated. We are ready to go to any length and use every resources available to us to prove our innocence. We will go through the judicial process to ensure that we get the deserved justice," he told the Graphic Sports.

Last Monday, the Ethics Committee, chaired by DCOP Kofi Boakye found Techiman City and Wa African United guilty of engaging in bribery and match-fixing and thus demoted them to Division Two, while their presidents were also banned from football for six months.

The say-it-as it-is Micky Charles said apart from fighting to prove the innocence of the club, he also considered the ban on him as a dent on his integrity, and as such he was prepared to clear his name.

"Apart from everything else, I also have my image to protect. I've not done anything wrong and will therefore go all length, to clear my name. I can't allow my reputation to be ruined in this manner," he said.

"I take serious exception to the remarks by the Committee which sought to impune on my integrity by saying that it did not find me a very credible witness, to say the least is very insulting," he said.
