Tema hosts Captain’s Prize, Sat

The Tema Country Golf Club maintains its tradition with the annual Captain’s Prize competition to herald the year’s major golf activities as the country’s major players converge to showcase their talents on Saturday.

The Captain, Dr Owusu Baah, has received sponsorship major boost from friends and industry big wigs, including Coca-Cola, PZ Cussons, Bel Aqua and Guinness Ghana Limited. 

The captain is expected to spend his own resources to market the club’s major competition for the year.

All the known faces at the club have indicated their intention to feature in the ‘flashy competition with business mogul, Sam Jonah, leading the pack.

The one-day 18-hole event is opened to only amateur players across the region to be categorised into groups A and B for both men and women divisions.

The men’s group A features golfers from handicap 1-14,  while the women are opened to handicap 1-20.

For the group B golfers, handicap 15-28  is for the men and 21-36  for women.

The Manager of the Tema Country Golf Club, Nicholas C. Amoah, told the Daily Graphic there would be auxiliary events,  including the longest drive and the nearest to the pin.

At stake are attractive prizes for winners.
