The company which is sponsoring RtD to the tune of $750,000 was at the academy to play a friendly game with the team and fratenise with the members.

“It has been an excellent day, you will realize that talents abound here. The academy’s module is the best way to go; as sponsors, we are proud of them because they believe in principles like integrity, diligence and others. That is what we believe in at Tullow,” Mr Darku said.

The game was in memory of the late Frank Awuah, a former member of staff of Tullow. Tullow won 5-3.

The Chief Executive of RtD, Tom Vernon, said “I look back with great satisfaction having succeeded in inculcating a great sense of responsibility into the players. Modern football lacks character, most players don’t know how to leverage fame, but we have been able to achieve that.

“We are happy to be part of the development of Ghana soccer with this academy system,” he added.

Over the years the academy has produced some great players, including Abdul Majeed Waris, David Acam, Afriyie Acquah and Godfred Saka.
