We’ll parade strong squad for games —Yamin
The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Joseph Yammin, has urged Ghanaians to stop comparing the nation’s state of preparations for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Scotland with their counterparts from other nations.
In reference to Nigeria’s advanced stage of preparations for the games, the minister said: “We can’t compare ourselves to Nigeria and vice-versa. Nigeria’s economy and land mass differ from Ghana. We have begun our preparations and we are unperturbed. Our focus will be to build a good team to win laurels at the games.”
Yamin was speaking to the Graphic Sports on the sidelines of the inauguration of four sub-committees to manage Ghana’s preparations and participation for the Commonwealth games in Glasgow from July 23 to August 3.
He also urged the Ghanaian media to devote more coverage to Ghana’s preparations and participation at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
