Wesley Grammar and Holy Trinity Cathedral excel at HD+ Kids Armwrestling in Accra
In a thrilling display of strength and determination, young arm wrestlers from Wesley Grammar Senior High and Holy Trinity Cathedral took centre stage at the Labone Senior High School in Accra during the Accra edition of the HD+ Kids Armwrestling Season II.
The event attracted hundreds of spectators as they witnessed the intense competition that would determine the finalists of the second season of the HD+ Kids Armwrestling Championship.

Participants between the ages of 12 to 18 showcased their skills and passion in both male and female categories, all vying for victory. In the men's 60kg category, Leonard Tetteh of Lovia Junior High School emerged victorious after a fiercely contested campaign, leaving his opponents in awe of his performance. Charles Cobbinah from Holy Trinity Cathedral Senior High School and Richmond Aboagye from Wesley Grammar Senior High School secured second and third places respectively in that category.
Rachael Lankai, the reigning National Armwrestling Champion in the female 65kg category, continued her winning streak by delivering an impressive performance in the female 60kg division. She defeated Mabel Yeboah of Ebenezer Senior High and Sarah Quartey of Wesley Grammar, securing the championship title.
In the men's 70kg category, Desmond Mensah of Bishop Mixed School claimed the top honors, with Steven Bennin from Holy Trinity Cathedral Senior High School (HOTCASS) and Henry Otoo from St Thomas Aquinas clinching the silver and bronze medals.
The dominance of Wesley Grammar remained evident as Gloria Afoagbadzi secured third place in the female 70kg category, falling short of Blessed Abeka Nunoo of Osu Salem Senior High School and Evelyn Steven from Nanka Bruce JHS, who finished first and second respectively.
The men's +70kg category, known as the clash of titans, witnessed a fierce battle among the competitors as they fought for the top spot. Nathaniel Adjei of La Presbyterian Secondary School emerged victorious, while Clement Korto from KATECO and Francis Kweku Annan from Labone claimed second and third places respectively.
Ayisha Abdulai of Beacon International JHS showcased her strength in the female +70kg category, overpowering Eugenia Ntow of HOTCASS and Jasmine Quarshie from Accra High School, who finished as the first and second runners-up.

The winners received cash prizes, medals, certificates, and various goodies from sponsors such as SES HD+ Ghana, Twellium Industries, Royal Dach Pharmaceuticals Limited, Wadada Ventures, Swaggers Resto-Pub, and Kofikrom Pharmacy.
Mrs. Adelaide Ahovy Abbiw-Williams, the CEO of title sponsor SES HD+ Ghana Limited, commended the Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF) for maintaining the competitiveness of the championship. She revealed that discussions were underway to expand the competition to other regions that have shown interest in the sport.
The HD+ Kids Armwrestling Championship, powered by the Ghana Armwrestling Federation in partnership with SES HD+ Ghana Limited, has received support from the Ghana Education Service, Ministry of Youth & Sports, National Sports Authority, 442Media Production, BlynkxliveGH, GNTV Junior, ETV Ghana, and Joy Prime.
The next destination for the HD+ Kids Armwrestling tournament will be the Methodist Girls Senior High School in the Eastern Region on Saturday, June 17.
