Insurance sector

At the event, the President CIIG, Solomon Lartey, said the true impact of insurance is evident in trying times as it helps to recover, rebuild and renew during the most trying times.

“The stories of individuals, businesses and communities that have been uplifted through social responsibility initiatives are the heart of our industry,” he said.

He urged players in the insurance industry to recommit themselves to professionalism, integrity and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

In view of regulation, Mr Lartey said the CIIG has partnered with the Ghana Insurance College to provide insurance education to its members since the Professional Bodies Regulation Act 1973, Act 143, mandated them to provide insurance education and training to enable persons to qualify to become members of the insurance profession.

To that, he said the CIIG would publish the list of members in good standing and file its list of members together with their qualifications and addresses with the office of the Registrar General's Department annually, gazetted under the Professional Bodies Regulation Act 1973, Act 143.
