BOSTenergies elevates Salifu Nat Acheampong as Deputy MD After Bondzie’s exit

BOST Energies Limited Company has held a send-off ceremony for its outgoing Deputy Managing Director, Ms Adwoa Serwaa Bondzie, following her appointment as Executive Secretary of the Energy Commission by President John Dramani Mahama.

The event, attended by the company’s management and staff, celebrated Ms Bondzie’s years of service and contribution to the growth of BOSTenergies, while formally welcoming Mr Salifu Nat Acheampong as the new Deputy Managing Director.

Ms Bondzie’s appointment to the Energy Commission created the vacancy, paving the way for the elevation of Mr Acheampong, a long-serving member of staff with extensive institutional knowledge of the company.

In a statement, the company said Mr Acheampong, the incoming Deputy Managing Director, brings rich experience and institutional memory to support the forward drive of the national asset, BOSTenergies.

The company described Ms Bondzie as an integral part of BOSTenergies, contributing significantly to its growth and success, and expressed the hope that she would excel in her new assignment at the Energy Commission.

The Managing Director of BOSTenergies, Mr Afetsi Awoonor, commended Ms Bondzie for her supportive roles in championing an organisational culture rooted in discipline, excellence, staff welfare and teamwork during her tenure.

Mr Awoonor described her departure as bittersweet, noting that while her exit represented a significant loss to BOSTenergies, it was also a major gain for the power sector where she is set to lead at the Commission.

In her brief remarks, Ms Bondzie expressed gratitude to management and staff for their support throughout her tenure. She reiterated her commitment to seeing the company continue to excel in the energy sector and described BOSTenergies as a place she would always call home.

Mr Acheampong, in his acceptance remarks, expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for appointing him to the role of Deputy Managing Director and pledged his unflinching commitment and support to the Managing Director.

He said that as Deputy Managing Director, he would collaborate closely with the Managing Director and the broader team at BOSTenergies to drive the company’s vision forward and make it more progressive.

Mr Acheampong is described as a distinguished resource person, problem solver and creative leader. He has served as Manager, Corporate Communications and External Affairs at BOSTenergies since February 2013, leading strategic communications initiatives, stakeholder engagement, brand management and media relations.

Until his appointment, he was Executive Technical Liaison at the company, advising the Managing Director on key operational and strategic matters.

Mr Acheampong holds a Master of Arts in Mass Communications from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom, a postgraduate diploma in Diplomacy from the University of Nottingham, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Nottingham Trent University and an Executive Graduate Certificate in Managing Energy Transition from the University of Texas in the United States, underscoring his commitment to continuous professional development.
