The Deputy Minister for Finance, Thomas Nyarko-Ampem, has inaugurated a new Governing Board for the Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX) with a call to strengthen the institution’s capacity to directly connect farmers with buyers both locally and internationally.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Deputy Minister urged the board to work towards expanding the range of commodities traded on the exchange, noting that good governance, transparency, and accountability must guide their operations.
The Board Chairperson, Nana Boadi Amponim Obadade III, assured stakeholders that the board will prioritise improving the GCX’s operations and impact, positioning it as a critical player in Ghana’s agricultural and commodities market.
