Dr Anarfi Sarpong named among Africa’s top 40 CEOs, wins iconic personality award
Dr Williams Anarfi Sarpong, the founder and Executive Director of the WASK Group of Companies, has been named among Africa’s 40 Under 40 Chief Executive Officers and honoured as the Most Iconic Personality of the Year 2025.
The recognition was conferred at a ceremony hosted by the Mayorkings Agency Group at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, where leading CEOs, policymakers, investors and young entrepreneurs gathered to celebrate excellence in African enterprise and leadership.
Dr Sarpong’s growing continental profile received an additional boost when Prowess University in Delaware, USA, awarded him an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities. The institution commended him for his contributions to healthcare innovation, youth empowerment and humanitarian initiatives, as well as his role in advancing enterprise development across Africa.
Under his stewardship, the WASK Group has developed into a fast-growing Pan-African conglomerate with interests spanning health services, technology, wellness, environmental management, hospitality and business consulting. One of its flagship operations, the Spintex Medical Center in Ghana, has been praised for blending conventional medical practice with advanced wellness and natural therapeutic care.
Beyond his corporate successes, Dr Sarpong has emerged as a prominent advocate for youth empowerment. Through Prife International Africa and other empowerment platforms, he has helped thousands of young people build careers in digital commerce, entrepreneurship and financial literacy. Over the past decade, his programmes have directly benefited more than 60,000 young Africans.
His humanitarian footprint extends to supporting widows, street children and vulnerable families through education, food aid and livelihood initiatives. Projects such as the Connect to Wealth Global Initiative and the WASK Family Foundation have been central in shaping his commitment to linking enterprise with social development.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Dr Sarpong said the honour symbolised a broader responsibility to drive transformational leadership across the continent. “This honour is not just a celebration of personal milestones. It reminds us that leadership carries the responsibility to serve, build sustainable systems, and empower others to reach their potential. I dedicate this recognition to God, my mother, my WASK Group team, Spintex Medical Centre, and every young African who dares to dream beyond limitations,” he said.
Dr Sarpong, who also holds honorary degrees in Health Information Management and Business Administration, says the WASK Group is preparing for major expansions across South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Morocco, Ghana and selected Middle Eastern markets. The next phase of growth will focus on healthcare development, youth enterprise platforms, wellness infrastructure and digital trade systems.
