Dutch Ambassador visits Sikkens
Mr Duijfjes commended the management and staff of Bamson for their successful operations over the last 27 years and encouraged them to keep abreast of modern trends in the paint industry in order to enhance their business.
The Trade Attache at the Netherlands Embassy, Mr Segers said, “Bamson Company is a perfect example of the results of the cooperation that exists between Ghana and The Netherlands and our visit is part of efforts to strengthen that relationship”.
He praised Bamson Company Limited and AkzoNobel for collaborating over the years to facilitate the training of several players in the local auto industry, including technicians and students from the polytechnics.
“The Ghana-Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (GHANECC) also offers new opportunities to Ghanaians to benefit from the strong cooperation that exists between our two countries,” he added.
The Managing Director of Bamson Company, Mr Kwame Ofosu Bamfo, thanked the envoys for their visit, which he described as very important in view of the strategic partnership between his company and AkzoNobel (Sikkens).
“Since 1985, Bamson Company has been the accredited representative of AkzoNobel Car Refinishes, BV of Holland in Ghana, and we are happy to note that our partnership has been mutually beneficial as is evident in the rapid growth of the company, which now has 150 members of staff, with eight forming the management team,” the Managing Director pointed out.
The Sales and Marketing Director of Bamson Company, Mr George Debra, said currently the company has nine branches and 50 distributors nation-wide. It has also established training centres in Accra and Kumasi that offers technical courses to clients at no cost.
He added that “The excellence of the centre has encouraged AkzoNobel to select it for its training programmes in Africa”.
He said after more than 27 years of steady progress in its activities, Bamson Company has become the market leader in the paint industry.
“We have widened our scope in the paint business beyond our original mission and we are now promoting customer satisfaction through AkzoNobel products, Sikkens and Dynacoat, by providing technical services on the correct usage of its quality products” he pointed out.
Mr Debra added that Bamson Company also offers training programmes in auto spraying, equipment maintenance and counter services to technicians and shop owners in the auto paint business.
