Telesol introduces new anti-virus software
He said eScan prevents malware outbreaks, data and identity thefts, productivity loss and security violations and further provides “zero day protection” against hacking, phishing and spam to the server of clients while reducing IT costs as far as security management through file reputation services is concerned.
The Assistant Vice President of MicroWorld Software Services Pvt Limited, Mr Nazir Kazi, said the new secure web interface uses sophisticated technology to encrypt all communications between the server and the clients effectively preventing “humans in the middle attacks”.
He said with the new web-based eScan Management Console (EMC), network administrators can now monitor and deploy a variety of security measures such as anti-malware and anti-spam updates, licenses, custom upgrading eScan, enabling or disabling of eScan modules and uninstalling other anti-virus software while enforcing integrated security policies across the network “all using a browser”.
According to him, administrators can use the software to assign privileges to clients on access to the removable devices such as CD-ROM and UBS devices.
“With application control, the administrators can also define applications that can be restricted on the client computers; eScan automatically prevents spreading of malware infections on networks and can also send alerts to the administrator about the outbreaks on the networks”, he said.
He said the software is not made for only large corporations but also for individuals and small and medium businesses, adding that they can have dedicated resources to handle the security of their networks.
