Guinness Ghana marks 65th anniversary with 15% price cut on select spirits
Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC has announced a 15 per cent price reduction on a range of its premium spirits as part of activities marking its 65th anniversary, in what the company describes as a heartfelt gesture of appreciation to Ghanaians for their enduring loyalty and support.
The announcement, made on Tuesday, reflects Guinness Ghana’s continued commitment to strengthening its relationship with consumers while recognising the socio-economic realities facing the country. The price reduction, which applies to popular brands including Johnnie Walker, Baileys, Gordon’s Gin, Smirnoff, Captain Morgan and others, is expected to provide relief and value to customers amid signs of economic recovery.
“This milestone belongs as much to our consumers, traders, and partners as it does to us,” said James Boakye Sarfo, Commercial Director at Guinness Ghana. “You’ve welcomed our brands into your homes, your milestones, and your communities. And now, as the cedi shows encouraging signs of recovery, we believe it’s only right that the progress we’re seeing is shared with the people who made it possible.”
He noted that the decision was not purely commercial but symbolic of the company’s belief in shared progress. “It reflects a simple truth: when we grow, we grow together,” Mr Boakye Sarfo added.
The company revealed that the discounted spirits will be available in leading supermarkets, retail outlets and bars across the country, with comprehensive in-store and digital campaigns to ensure customers are informed about the offer while stocks last.
Guinness Ghana, which has become a household name since its establishment in 1960, says the initiative is part of a broader agenda to make celebratory moments more accessible. “This is more than a promotion—it is a celebration of loyalty, resilience, and partnership,” the company noted in a statement.
The promotional offer covers various bottle sizes of flagship brands such as Johnnie Walker Black, Red, and Double Black Labels; Baileys Original and Strawberry Cream; Gordon’s Dry Gin and Moringa variant; Smirnoff Vodka and Smirnoff Chocolate; as well as Captain Morgan, J&B Rare Whisky, and Black & White Whisky.
