Republic Bank, CIMG form marketing alliance
The Republic Bank PLC has hosted the governing council of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) at its head office to form a strategic engagement to redefine the landscape of professional marketing in Ghana.
The meeting marks the beginning of a dynamic partnership aimed at advancing marketing excellence, professional certification and national development.
Led by National President of CIMG, Michael Abbiw, the delegation presented an ambitious three-year strategic agenda during a courtesy call on the Managing Director of Republic Bank, Dr Benjamin Dzoboku.
“Our vision is to make marketing more attractive, effective, and relevant across every sector of the economy. We believe marketing is not just about promoting products, it’s about creating value, building trust, and shaping national identity. From customer service to strategic branding, marketing cuts across all levels of institutional operation,” he said.
Among the core areas discussed were Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) training, sustainability education for staff across industries, and a CIMG-managed call centre to address unresolved service complaints with an initiative stemming from the institute’s Consumer Satisfaction Index (CSI) programme.
Additionally, the CIMG revealed its government-backed role in leading the Brand Ghana and Brand Africa campaigns.
The two major projects are aimed at positioning Ghana and the African continent as global brands through strategic marketing.
Accompanied by senior CIMG executives, including Vice President, Ama G. Amoah, an advisor, Francis Dadzie, Registrar and CEO, Kwabena Agyekum, Clarence Pappoe, and Ms Priscilla Menka, the team discussed several initiatives designed to elevate the standards of marketing in Ghana.
Commitment
Dr Dzoboku commended the council’s bold vision and expressed Republic Bank’s full commitment to advancing marketing professionalism within the financial sector.
“I am deeply impressed by the institute’s proactive agenda and its far-reaching impact on professional development and nation-building. At Republic Bank, people are our greatest asset. That’s why we have prioritised human capital development, and CIMG’s programmes align perfectly with that goal,” he said.
He endorsed the proposed education and certification frameworks as essential to building a resilient, future-ready workforce.
“The CIMG has come at the right time. Together, we can build capacity, drive sustainable marketing practices, and prepare professionals for a rapidly changing economic landscape. The potential for collaboration is vast, and we are ready,” he said.
He also encouraged the CIMG leadership to explore Republic Bank’s range of financial solutions, including its mortgage and credit card offerings, to support the welfare of members and staff.
