The event attracted 40 major Chinese companies, whose officials shared their expertise and knowledge on the country’s current macroeconomic environment, highlighting some opportunities businesses could exploit.

In his welcome address, the Deputy Managing Director of Societe Generale, Ghana, Mr Francois Marchal, stressed the importance of developing relationships with the Chinese community by adapting the SG Group’s strategy to position the Chinese Desk in all its subsidiaries in Africa, with Ghana as a leading subsidiary within the group. That, according to him, was to ensure that all the unique needs of “this market segment is well catered for in line with the slogan of the SG Group – ‘Accompanying the business development of Chinese companies in Africa”.

The Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Ms Sun Baohong, said the event was to further strengthen the relations between Ghana and China.

She encouraged Chinese enterprises in Ghana to carry out their business in earnest to expand all forms of cooperation, while exploring diversified forms of financing.
