The foundation responded to an appeal made by the hospital to help support it with a modern oxygen concentrator to replace the old ones that cause difficulties for both patients and health workers.

An oxygen concentrator, also known as ‘oxygen generator’, is a medical device used to deliver oxygen to those who require it.

Already the foundation has provided support to three hospitals namely the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, the Tema General Hospital and the Police Hospital.

Maintenance

The Managing Director (MD) of the Royal Bank, Mr Robert Kow Bentil, gave an assurance that the foundation would continue to support vulnerable communities and institutions.

He called on the management of the hospital to ensure the regular maintenance of the facility. He advised them to learn from other beneficiaries of the foundation on best maintenance practices.

According to him, the foundation would continue on its objective, which is to give back to society in areas such as health, water, sanitation and education.

He said the foundation had already provided boreholes to selected communities nationwide, adding that the support was to help the physically challenged to obtain gainful employment as well as supporting needy brilliant children in schools.

According to him, the foundation decided to invest in water projects because “we believe that water is life and, therefore, as part of our social responsibility, we have outlined a number of such projects to be executed across the country annually”.

Acceptance

The Medical Director of the hospital, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Samuel Amo Mensah, thanked the TRB foundation for the kind gesture and entreated other corporate bodies to also extend support to the hospital.

The director further appealed to the government to provide the hospital with the needed infrastructure and equipment to function effectively.
