Yango reward partner couriers

SOME top performing couriers which are partners of Yango Delivery, a part of global tech company Yango Group, have been recognised for their excellent service in parcel delivery.

The event brought together about 400 top performing couriers of Yango partners who were honoured with various awards including high end smartphones, award plaques, fuel coupons, hampers and special souvenirs.

Three outstanding couriers were also rewarded with brand new motorbikes each.

In a release issued by the company, it said in an effort to improve the financial literacy of partner’s couriers, the event hosted facilitators who took participants through various modules on building healthy savings and investment culture.

“Effective November 2024 all partners’ couriers will benefit from a personal insurance cover in case of health related incidents while fulfilling orders with the Yango app,” it added.

Road safety

Speaking at the award ceremony in Accra, the Country Manager of Yango Delivery in Ghana, Emmanuel Koduah, acknowledged the importance of road safety for all and the central role played by partners’ couriers in the positive growth trajectory of the delivery sector in the country.

He said the goal is to build on successful partnerships and contribute to the advancement of safety and industry standards.

“That is why it is so important for us to recognize the efforts of partners’ couriers who collaborate with our platform. Yango is committed to road safety, acknowledging it as a shared societal responsibility that requires everyone to play a role.

In collaboration with Provident Insurance, we have introduced specialized free accident insurance to help protect couriers from potential financial losses in case of service-related incidents,” he said.

Innovation

Commenting on the launch of the insurance programme, the Managing Director of Provident Insurance, Ken Doh, expressed his excitement about the partnership with Yango to deliver innovative insurance products that cater to the unique needs of the delivery tech industry.

He said the collaboration aligns with his outfit’s commitment to providing tailored solutions and to enhancing the overall confidence to all road users.

The release said throughout this year, Yango has held several events to support partners’ couriers, recognise their immense contributions and to provide them with useful information about road safety.

"During the recent event in March the top 100 of partners’ couriers were awarded for their effort while using a platform," it added.
