Drake Donates $75K studio to Philadelphia school

Drake has donated a $75,000 recording studio to Strawberry Mansion High School in Philadelphia. The studio was reportedly finished last summer, but they just recently found a music instructor.

“The studio was actually completed last summer, but they’ve only now found someone to be their music instructor, and so the students will finally be able to start using the new studio. The principal, Linda Cliatt-Wayman, said.

Drake made the donation announcement back in 2013 after visiting the city and seeing a ABC News segment about the principal’s efforts to help fix the school.

“When he visited the city during a tour in October 2013, he invited a few individuals from the school community to a private pre-show event, where he announced the donation. 

“This is about you. This is about your principal. This is about your future,” Drake told them.
