The young man who has worked with the likes of Ofori Amponsah, Kofi Nti and C- Zar says the popularity of highlife in recent times is an indication that Ghanaians appreciate “music from their roots”.

“In this era of huge foreign influence in on our music front, Highlife still reigns because the masses appreciate it.

“ This means, if we package what we have well, it will definitely attract the young generation and this is what we hope to achieve with Highlife music,” he told Showbiz in an interview on Monday.

Apart from Bisa Kdei who he showered praises on, Richie Rich, who is currently promoting his debut album, Nsroma lauded the talents of many young highlife artistes such as Ofori Amponsah and Kwabena Kwabena who have worked hard to make the genre a force to reckon with.

And as his contribution to raise high the flag of Highlife, Richie Rich, real name, Richard Kwabena Adjei released Nsroma in January this year.

The album features songs such as ɔdɔ Aduame, Ghana Mmaa, Akɔnɔba, Ohia Asɛm, Onyame Wɔhɔ and Tasty.

After promoting the title track Nsroma for some time now, Richie Rich is currently concentrating on Tasty which he says is an “honour to women”.

Produced and engineered by Ultimate Big Brother Studios (UBBS), Tasty is a highlife song which talks about a “tasty” lady called Tracy.

Despite not being educated and sophisticated as many of her peers, Tracy wins the hearts of many men because of her ‘tasty’ attitude.

“This song is just to inspire many young ladies out there that irrespective of their background, if they are tasty in everything, they will find their dream man”.
